Span-Adhesive 5001

It is a polymer modified cement-based floor and wall tile grey colored Adhesive with higher adhesive strength; it is a smooth and creamy thin-set Adhesive to be used for installing small to medium format ceramic wall and floor tiles in interior areas. This highly flexible adhesive also has excellent waterproofing ability. When properly applied, it takes care of hollowness problems and is ideal for use in green buildings.

Specification

Areas of Application

• Fixing ceramic, vitrified, and natural stone tiles on floors and walls.
• Use in both indoor and outdoor applications.
• Suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pools, terraces, and other wet or dry areas.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is clean, dry, level, and free from dust, oil, grease, or loose particles.
• Repair any cracks or uneven areas before application.
• Avoid application on surfaces with standing water or visible dampness.

Mixing Instructions

• Mix the adhesive powder with clean water as per the manufacturer’s ratio to form a smooth, lump-free paste.
• Stir well to achieve a homogeneous consistency.
• Do not add excess water as it may weaken the adhesive properties.
• Let the mixture rest for a few minutes before application.

Storage & Shelf Life

• Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep the product in its original, tightly sealed packaging.
• Shelf life is typically 12 months from the date of manufacture under proper storage conditions.

Application Method

• Use a notched trowel to spread a thin, even layer of adhesive on the surface, working in small sections.
• Hold the trowel at a 45-degree angle to form ridges for improved bonding.
• Place tiles into the adhesive and gently press and twist for full contact.
• Use tile spacers to maintain uniform spacing.
• Adjust tiles while the adhesive is still wet.
• Clean off excess adhesive immediately.
• Allow adhesive to cure as per manufacturer’s recommended time before grouting.

• Wear safety goggles, gloves, and a dust mask to prevent irritation and inhalation of dust.
• Ensure proper ventilation during application.
• Avoid skin and eye contact. Wash immediately with soap and water if contact occurs.
• Do not ingest or handle with food. Seek immediate medical help if swallowed.
• Clean tools immediately after use to prevent hardening.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Dispose of unused product and packaging as per local environmental regulations.
